Whiskey

Whiskey is a distilled beverage that made from grain, aged in wood barrels and contains approximately 40-50% alcohol by volume. There are several varieties of whiskeys but each is distinctive based on differences in the type of grain used (including barley, malted barley, rye, malted rye, wheat, and corn) and production methods that vary depending on the country from where it is produced. For example, Scotch is a type of whiskey that must be produced in Scotland, distilled at least twice and aged in oak barrels for at least 3 years and 1 day. Bourbon is an American whiskey that is produced from a mash that consists of at least 51% corn and is aged in new charred oak barrels.
